Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is a graduate research-oriented university that seeks to become a world leader in education and research to solve the challenges facing Qatar and the global community. HBKU College of Law was established through a strategic partnership between HBKU and Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. Its Juris Doctor degree, launched in 2015, trains students in the core legal subjects found in law degrees in common law and civil law countries. In 2019, HBKU College of Law launched the LL.M. in International Economic and Business Law and the LL.M. in International Law and Foreign Affairs. The three-year S.J.D. is HBKU College of Law’s most advanced degree and was launched in 2021.
