Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP)

In 2026, the Law Clinic on International Economic Law (LCIEL) was established. The clinic is part of the curriculum of the Law School at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). Law clinics are designed as platforms that enable students to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Through this experience, students learn how to address specific legal issues for at least one beneficiary and, in some cases, they also work on academic projects. The LCIEL provides legal advice to both private and public entities.

The professor in charge is Jorge Luis Manrique de Lara Seminario. Lawyer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), Master of International Law and Economics from the World Trade Institute, University of Bern (Switzerland), and an LL.M. from Columbia University. Former Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiator for Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, he also worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru and the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, Netherlands.

Currently, he serves as a consultant in the Directorate of International Economic Affairs at Peru’s Ministry of Economy and Finance. He is a Professor at PUCP, a Professor and Academic Coordinator at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences, and Editor of the Manchester Journal of International Economic Law.
